Welcome to Price Signal ("Price Signal", "we", "our", or "us"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you install, access, or use the Price Signal Shopify application (the "App") and its related dashboard, onboarding, product-sync, logging, analytics, and Shopify Flow trigger services (collectively, the "Services").

We are committed to complying with applicable privacy and data-protection laws, including, where relevant, the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR), the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) / California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), the India Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 (DPDP Act), and other applicable laws in the regions where our Merchants operate.

1. Who We Are

Price Signal is a Shopify application developed and maintained by Seventh Triangle Consulting. We generally act as a data processor when handling store-related information on behalf of Shopify merchants ("Merchants"), and as a data controller for information provided directly to us, such as support or business contact details.

Price Signal is designed primarily to work with store, product, and operational event data. We do not intentionally collect sensitive categories of personal data or customer payment card data. Payment information, where relevant, is handled through Shopify's own billing and commerce infrastructure.

3. Cookies, Session Storage, and Local Storage

We and Shopify may use cookies, session storage, and similar browser technologies necessary to:

  • Authenticate Merchants and maintain secure app sessions.
  • Remember App state during onboarding and dashboard use.
  • Store temporary flags related to initial product sync and embedded app navigation.

These technologies are used to operate the App and are not intended for unrelated third-party advertising purposes.

4. Legal Bases for Processing

Where GDPR or similar laws apply, we rely on the following legal bases:

  1. Contractual Necessity - to provide the App and Services requested by Merchants.
  2. Legitimate Interests - to secure, monitor, improve, and support the App and to prevent misuse.
  3. Consent - where required for optional communications or processing that legally requires consent.
  4. Legal Obligation - to comply with tax, accounting, platform, and privacy compliance requirements, including Shopify mandatory privacy webhooks.

5. How We Use Information

  • To install, authenticate, operate, and maintain the App.
  • To read store product and variant information needed for baseline syncing and price comparison.
  • To detect variant price changes and send configured trigger payloads to Shopify Flow.
  • To show dashboard summaries, trigger logs, analytics, and setup status inside the App.
  • To save Merchant settings such as tracking scope, thresholds, and workflow state.
  • To investigate bugs, webhook failures, duplicate deliveries, and operational incidents.
  • To respond to support requests and communicate with Merchants about the Services.
  • To comply with legal obligations and Shopify platform requirements.

6. How We Share Information

We do not sell personal data. We may share information only as reasonably necessary:

  • With Shopify for authentication, API access, webhook delivery, billing-related platform operations, and compliance with Shopify app requirements.
  • With Service Providers that help us host, secure, or operate the App, such as cloud hosting and managed database providers, under confidentiality and data-processing obligations.
  • Within Seventh Triangle Consulting on a need-to-know basis for support, maintenance, and operations.
  • For Legal Reasons if disclosure is required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect our rights, Merchants, or the App.

7. International Data Transfers

Our App infrastructure may be hosted using Amazon Web Services (AWS), including infrastructure in the AP-South-1 (Mumbai) region. Depending on the Merchant's location, information may be transferred to and processed in countries outside the Merchant's own jurisdiction. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.

8. Data Subject and Consumer Rights

Depending on applicable law, individuals may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing of personal data, and to receive a portable copy of eligible data.

To submit a privacy-related request, please contact apps@seventhtriangle.com. If a request relates to Shopify-controlled or Merchant-controlled data, we may direct the request through the relevant Merchant or Shopify privacy workflow.

9. Security Measures

  • HTTPS/TLS for data in transit.
  • Access controls for App infrastructure and operational systems.
  • Use of Shopify authentication flows, API permissions, and webhook verification mechanisms.
  • Operational logging and monitoring to investigate issues and improve reliability.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect information handled through the App.

10. Data Retention

We retain App-related information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services, maintain the App, support Merchants, comply with legal obligations, and enforce our agreements. This may include store settings, baseline product and variant records, trigger logs, and operational event history. When a Merchant uninstalls the App or Shopify issues a valid privacy webhook request such as customer data request, customer redaction, or shop redaction, we will process the request in accordance with Shopify requirements and applicable law.

11. Children's Privacy

The App is intended for businesses and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice through the App or other reasonable means.
